Default Cheapest way to get 1.5" of lift???????

Been working on the Xj and decided as I do a motor swap I want to add another 1.5". Currently have a RC 3" (springs and AAL). Can I just buy a 1.5" lift (spacers and shackles) and add to my current lift? Or would it be better to buy more springs and a full leaf pack?

I have heard so many people on here bad mouth shackles. I am nervous to use them. I really only want another 1.5".

Also I have the RC shocks that came with the 3", will I need taller for another 1.5? Will I need a TC drop. I have already moved the brake lines.

You guys know more than me. Thanks.

Spacers and Shackles will be fine, but you may find that you are going to need either control arms or drop brackets...
That amount of lift is going to pull the front tire back in the wheel wells a bit...
I am getting ready to do the same thing and getting arms to relocate the front axle.

Trev;
You are doing the exact same thing I'm doing. I have my 3" RC life ordered, but I also ordered a XJ 1.75 Boost:

I'm going to install the 1.75" lift first, wait on the 3", until I get adj. LCs and track bar, probably these:

Awesome, Thanks guys. Your gonna love the RC 3". I run 31" MTR and only rub at full flex. Been all over Uwharrie in NC and never had a problem. I just want it higher. I really do not want to cut the fenders. For a 20 year old Jeep, the body is almost perfect. Thanks BB lift is being ordered today.

Depends on what motor swap your doing? And shackles are fine... they hurt nothing... in fact they help be wise they should reset your shackle angle properly for Max flex... if your going with a v8 then buy 4.5in springs if your gonna play Offroad.... pucks tend to talk off to the sides and everything else... I don't like them... 4.5 would normally mean longer control arms... but the weight of the v8 would kill that saying and bring it down to 3in springs killing the idea of needing to change anything else... although I would look at doing it in the near future since stock control arms are junk sheetmetal...
