Chasing TDC
Should be easy enough, but for some reason I cant sem to get to TDC? I have pulled the distributior cap, turned the engine until the notch on the crank poully lines up with 8 degrees BTDC, and the distributor points at either #3 or #4? Am I missing something?

take the valve cover off and take out the number one plug. roll it over with your finger in the plug hole. (you will feel it puch air out as it comes up on compression) until you get your timing mark lined up, the rockers on the number one cyl will be loose. (not like falling off loose). this will guarantee number one tdc

the harmonic balacer could have spun on the rubber betwwen the two pieces and moved the timing marks. set the motor to tdc as said above and if the marks are off balancer is spun. seen this a few times and happened to me on my 91 5.0 mustang had to put 100degrees on my timing light for the marks to line up haha.
