Default Charging problem 1992 Cherokee 4Ltre

Need help finding the fusible link going to the alternator. No power when you turn key on at the alt. wiring harness.

In my opinion if you blew the fuseable link in the wiring harness it is just time to replace the harness those only go out when the harness is really degraded.

Also this thread should be posted in Cherokee Chat

You are going to look on the wires coming to and from the altenator for a fat spot in the wire that is your fuseable link. They were at different places in the wire bundles depending on which employee made up thar bundle. I have seen them right next to the alt. and under a wrap further up into the bundle.

Thanks for the reply. I have had this one for a long time and not had any wiring problems to date. I ran a short test on entire system & it shows negative. Just have an open circuit to the alternator connection.

Try jumping an additional ground to th altenator straight from the battery. See if you still have an open circuit.
