Default changing trans fluid, filter

I have a 2000 Cherokee Sport with auto trans. Just got it and new to jeeps. Love great for hunting. I went to change the trans fluid and filter and found the dipstick tube goes into the side of the pan. Does this pop out to lower the pan, or do I have to take a bracket of the block or somewhere? Thanks

the dipstick tube does not come out of the side of the pan. it is two pieces and slips together about 6" from the pan.

If you can not get it to slip apart you can take the 13mm bolt loose from the upper part of the dipstick tube and bring everything out the bottom if you are careful and patient.
