Actually the rings only missing 4 half teeth in width. the pinion is missing 4 half teeth in depth and 2 in width. So every time they line up "chacunk. The good thing, if there is one at this point, its nice and queit when I'm coasting down hill. Not real bad at excelleration. Its at that equalibrium trying to maintain that I'm waiting for it to explode! LOL thats the loud point.

How much Khyren? I may have someone out that way to get it for me. Other than that yeah, shipping is about as much as the new one I priced. The good part of the new one is shipping is free. LOL

Woo hoo. A 96 showwed up at the local pick and snag. Went to check it out. Couldn't see the tag. But is 6 cyl manual. Some one has removed DS leafs so its already half pulled. No tools and no money till tuesday, and no time till thursday. Hope its still there. One thing though. Looks like a bullet hope in the cover. LOL. May be a drain hole but the JY knows nothing about it and I not packin my 1/2 socket couldn't open it up. Piced at a $122.00 with out drums. Wish me luck guys and thanks evryone. I will let ya'll know the out come next week end.
I have with regrets now a 96 cherokee, 4.0, 5 speed, 8.25 chrysler, with the dreaded 3.07. The lock nut came off on the rear dif at about 50 mph. pulled over with out a problem. Tow trucked it home, driver busted a couple teeth when unloading. Need to replace R and P. Can't find any for less then $600 for just the R and P. $1200 +- for the whole axle. Can I just change out both the front and rear R and Ps and change the ratio? If so whats best for gas Milage?
ETA:
I have actually seen that locknut issue first hand. The "mechanic" torqued the lock nut to 6 inch pounds, scary stuff when peeps can't or won't follow instructions.

Good find there! I plan on snagging a whole new rear that I'll convert to discs at the yard. The price of a whole rear is cheaper than if they nitpicked all the disc swap parts alone. Messed up I tell you.
