did you put enough oil in it?
Did you maybe bump or disconnect the pressure sending unit while changing the filter?

Yea that's a common problem. Spray it with contact cleaner or WD-40 and plug it back in...Tj

if you grab a hold of the plastic part of the sending unit, see if you can wiggle it. If it is loose, the plastic broke away from the metal and you need to replace it. Very easy to fix.

Sorry to hijack but my oil pressure stays pegged at 80psi and drops down to 45psi when it's warmed up and sitting at a stop light. As soon as I take off it goes right back up to 80psi. When I put the key in and turn it forward the gauge goes up to 40psi without the jeep on. Is this a symptom of a faulty oil pressure sending unit? Again, sorry to hijack. I just didn't want to start another thread.

Valvoline 10w40. I just replace the oil pressure sending unit and now it reads 40psi at idle and 50-55 while driving. Another question. Is $46 too much for the unit? It's a duralast with lifetime warranty.

I run Valvoline, but oil is oil. Castrol, Valvoline, Penzoil, they all break down at the same rate and do the same thing.
Synthetics I run Mobil 1 or Royal Purple
