Check that you're wires are running to the right cylinders, and if they are, pull each plug one by one, and visually inspect them.
2000 does not have plug wires....it uses this....no way to screw up the firing order....I would like to know what code it set when the check engine light came on.

Yes as i stated before its A COIL BANK meaning it does not have a distributor, and you cannot foul up the wires...see above pic.thanks btw for pic.

I'm used to CJ's...no sensors no mindless miles of wire...so im new to this type of "engineering" but not new to turning a wrench.I had an old 87 xj 4.0(1st year) but it gave no problems,i had a J-30 pickup,CJ8,CJ7 at the same time so i sold the xj for more fun...so ya i know a bit about jeeps thx Kmart lol

Thanks for the help so far guys!

I'm still curious as to what brand plugs you installed.

Congratulations. Which means that you shouldn't have a problem following directions. Have you visually inspected each plug for a broken insulator, proper gapping, etc, etc?

All you've done is talk about how you know Jeeps. Get off here, and go wrench on it, then come back here and tell us what you did or did not find.

WOW nice attitude kmart-done talking to you.

I ran the code reader at the parts store and it came up with open injection error #2 and it also said missfire on #2 cylinder.

I have an idea just for laughs..Disconnect the two battery cables and leave them touched together (Off the battery) to clear out the trouble codes stored in the computer..Then take the plug from the #2 cylinder and switch it with a plug from any other cylinder and fire it back up and see if the code returns and still says the same #2 or if it moves with the plug or maybe even doesnt come back at all.

just sounds like a cracked insulator or maybe you accidentally banged the gap on the plug shut while installing.

Dude, the only reason I'm bein a dick is because you're being stubborn. Please, for God's sake, CHECK YOUR PLUGS VISUALLY.

Have you done that at all? Not that hard, man.

What was the actual code? P0302?

Try and find someone with an actual Scan Tool. A MODIS or an ETHOS would be great. Those tools from the AP store are just fancified code readers.

A scan tool will give you freeze frame data when the code was thrown of all the engine's vital components.

Trust me. I ain't talking out of my god damn ***.

My 99 was doing the exact thing today. Ran great cold but as soon as it warmed up it started missing. I could hear a popping coming from around #3 plug. Pulled it and it was cracked in two places.

Oh yeah, and lighten up Kmart

I would go buy another plug and change out #2.
Its possible you just got a internally defective plug.
