Do you have any idea where the wire(s) that were wrapped around the fuse went? The PO (previous owner) had obviously installed a work-around for something... turn signals, maybe?

Stop posting that. You have not been paying attention. It's all worked before she replaced a fuse for dash lights. A fuse would not tell the signal switch to gtfo. It's in the fuse block somewhere. I.e. flasher or **** poor connections in the fuse block. From the condition of the fuse posted earlier I can see water damage in the block.
So you gtfo with the combo switch. Don't you have $300 bucks to dig out of a heater vent?

thats what were trying to help you figure out exactly what is the fix .there can be numerous things wrong its not always the same fix on every xj . work with us its gotta be some thing simple if it worked b4 you messed with the fuses.....

I went and switched some fuses back to the old ones and my gauges are moving again. Still no turn signals. I have 2 other fuses that I didn't want to switch back. The one that is supposed to light up the dash (because that was my original issue) and the turn signals fuse. I didn't put the old fuse back for turn signals because when I pulled it out, there was all kinds of wire wrapped around on one side and I pulled them off. Also that side with the wire looks all white and almost like spiderwebs on the inside.
