I picked up a set of decent 10 spoke rims and caps off of CL the other day. One of the caps has 1 clip broken and another has 3 clips in a row missing. Any ideas on repairing these caps for use?
The wheels are cleaning up nicely, not sure if I will have them powder coated or just run them as-is without the grunge.

Finally got my 10 spokes mounted on my 90 XJ. I repaired the hubcaps by breaking out my aviation tin snips and some sheet metal strips to reinforce my two caps with missing clips.
i might break down and paint the caps someday but for now they look pretty good

They look good! I had those on my first XJ, a 1984 Cherokee Chief!

I started out with Dawn dishwashing detergent and a couple of bronze brushes from Home Depot. Without the bronze brush nothing touched the grunge.
i finished them off with Purple Power diluted with garden hose water. The Purple Power stuff is pretty corrosive on your skin. I used an old pair of dishwashing gloves. i test mounted a wheel and couldn't see the backside of the wheel so they didn't get the attention that the frontside did. I tried oven cleaner from the Dollar store along with pressure washing and got very little results so I'm calling it good
