CEL! help please lol.
Wow.... Haha the CEL is gone.... I changed the things that go over the park plugs. I'm assuming coil packs..? They obviously weren't traditional wires but the CEL is gone. I'm letting it idle now, it still gets somewhat rough after a minute at idle....?
Is this a normal idle point? It's slightly shaky.

ok just checked the FSM...your fuses are a bit different than mine. Yours should be F17. It is in the middle row of mini fuses, far right side (towards the engine). It should be a 20amp fuse.
Also check the relays for the o2 sensors. You can easily do this by pulling a relay from one of the non-critical systems (a/c compressor, fog lights, or radiator fan) and replacing the o2 sensor (upstream) relay. I don't think this is your issue though.

yea i know, yours doesn't have a fuse that goes there, so there are no metal contacts to hold it in place. Check the location i said above
I will this afternoon. Sorry I put that last comment before I saw your most recent. The throttle body seemed to be pretty snug, and the exhaust had no leaks that were visible or audible.

the fog light relays and abs relays you may not have. You should definitely have a downstream o2 sensor relay with a 2000 xj.
go to a shop or a friend with a scanner and see if the o2 sensor voltage is where it should be, and see if its switching properly...it may very well be an o2 sensor, but you dont want to replace it if it isnt broken

Well we tried, if the fuses look fine it likely really is a bad o2 sensor (upstream sensor - located on the downpipe for the exhaust before the cat). Be sure to check the wiring for breaks and melted insulation.
