It's all good I was just giving you a hard time.. Couldn't resist..but please come up with better reasoning then they do so I can or I can't or won't get caught so it's ok..really those are poor reasons for anything..

AND (this was not mentioned) Removal ,without the intent of replacement, of any emissions component be it by a repair shop or by owner can result in a hefty fine (I last heard $10,000) and jail-time.
For a few bucks a new converter is worth it. You may not see any immediate improvement of MPG... that motors been running with a stuffed up exhaust for mostlikely a long time, it will take some time to get things back to running the way they are supposed to.
There is probably alot of carbon built up on the exhaust valves that they arent sealing and flowing the way they should.
I would suggest, change entire exhaust including O2 sensor and Converter. Run some Seafoam thru the intake. Clean off your IAT (or relocate). Unclog your CCV.

No backlash here.
Valid question. For which received a decent reply.
I was always told it was Intake.
Could be wrong. I will check it out and probably keep my mouth shut to hide further embarassment.

I dont understand why use something that makes MPG suffer.
If your vehicle gets better mileage why use it. Apples to oranges i reckon. lol

Many places check emmissions annually and it is quite expensive to be caught without one ($10,000) and they make your Jeep sound funny without it in place. JMHO!
