Carbing a 4.0 on stand
I have a spare 4.0 sitting in my basement. I have been doing some work on it, just to get some experience and learn about the engine. Now I was thinking it would be cool to stick a carb on it so that I could run it on the stand without having to go out abd buying an entire wiring harness. Will any carb work, And how will I power the distributor? Just get an old fashioned coil?

Any input?? I really want to get it firing without having to get a new wiring harness. I picture it kind of like the old v8s on stand that you can watch on youtube where there is one wire from the battery and then a couple more, hit the switch and boom.

Look for an intake and carb from a Wrangler with the 4.2 I6. You're still going to need an ECM and wire harness just to get spark thought. A lot of time and expence just to have a toy engine in your basement.
