so I jumped the jeep today without a problem. let it idle for an hour. then drove it around for a half hour. I had the music going, the heater going, and headlights on. drove it around like it was nothing, and the gauge read 14v steady no problems, not even bouncing the slightest. as I was backing it up my driveway, the car stalls. all the lights, everything is out. I try and jump it. took me 4 times. and the first three times sounded like a sad starter. could my alternator be fried? or my pcm?

so today i checked everything with a multimeter. before engine was running and the battery was in there i was getting 12 volts. really really low. so i jump started it and it popped up to 12.69 volts at the battery. then i took a reading right at the terminal and i received 14.4v. then i followed the positive wire to the fuse box and was seeing 14.4v so the corroded wire and bad terminal connection might be out of the picture. because everything seem clean and the wires aren't stiff from corrosion. could the pcm have gone bad? maybe it fried some connection in their maybe. i just want some solid conformation before i start throwing all my money at a pcm and find out nothing is wrong.

I doubted you, I'm sorry. I got new terminals, threw them on and the thing fired right up. I didn't initially listen to you at first because it sounded so simple with a problem that was wicked weird to begin with, plus the fact that I was heated because I thought I blew something by grounding the positive. As you can tell electrical is not my cup of tea. Thank you though, you're a life saver!
