Default Can't get motor centered over motor mount holes

The rubber on the drivers side motor mount cracked and shifted the motor. Putting in new brown dogs now and can't get it centered. See picture. I have the tranny mount and passenger side mounts loose. I can move the engine by hand now side to side but can't get it to move back. Any tips or tricks?

Instead of lowering your tranny, maybe try lifting it. Might shift it in the right direction. Congrats on the brown dogs, as soon as I can afford I am getting one of their super kits

I have a feeling the issue may be due to the trans mount. They make a centered and offset trans mount. If you have the wrong one on, it will cause the engine to sit sideways like that.

How can you tell by looking at it?

This certainly may not be your issue, but I once spent far more time than I care to admit trying to line up motor mounts in an Olds Cutlass only to find that I had received the wrong mounts.

I don't think the mounts are wrong because in the picture with the mounts removed, the engine isn't centered over the holes. It's shifted forward, or to the left if you're looking at it from the side.

The trans mount is totally disconnected now, and it still won't line up.

Finally got everything together. Getting different types of vibes than before. Do they need to break in some or should I mess with different tightnesses on the center bolt?

The center bolt is too be snug not tight.. The center bolts on brown dogs motor mounts are not torque specific. Might need too spent some time getting the right torque for the sweet spot.
If you also have the through bolt kit from brown dog with the washers. You tighten them untill they are tight enough..but you can spin the washer/washers with some effort by hand.

And Yes give them some time to get worked in..mine took about 500 miles but they did soften up..

Thank you. I used the old center bolts and tightened them down pretty good. I'll loosen them up some.

Not too loose.. Just snug them down so they wont loosen up.

Plus they are aftermarket mounts, expect a little more motor vibe then OEM..

Also if you got the polyurethane then they will vibrate slightly more than rubber, no matter how many miles you put on them.
