I'm buying a 1993 XJ 4cyl, 2.5, manual and it is missing the bolt at the top of the power steering pump...you know the one that tightens up the belt and without it the belt flies off. Anybody know what size that bolt is? I can not find it anywhere. Have called dealerships, junk yards and auto part stores to no avail.
Btw...it is my assumption that is the power steering pump. Pic and info is from the seller.
I have a '95 YJ with a 2.5 and took a look to see if I could help. My PS pump bracketing looks nothing like that. It actually looks identical to the PS bracketing on my '99 and '98 XK.
Do you know what size bolt that is? He took one out of a 94, 4 cyl, 5 spd Wrangler and it fit. ..here's the one he used but had to put back in the wrangler. ..which has since been sold
These are two that I have in the garage from an XJ PS pump. Not sure of the size/pitch, but I can check at home depot tomorrow. I'm pretty sure these are the same as on my YJ. I won't be able to check that for a day or two though.
Was jut about to post that I measured it at Homedepot and it was m8 x 1.25 but oyu neat me to it. the other bolt is actually for the thermostat housing. Of course thats 5/16-18. the mix of metric and SAE gets really annoying. Gotta keep both kinds of wrenches around.
