Dear New Buddies,

I just bought my first Jeep - a 1992 (built) Jeep Cherokee Limited with the Renault 2.1 litre J8S-890 Turbo charged engine and 5-speed manual gearbox. I now live here in Normandie, France - and they built Jeeps with this engine for export then, although I understand they finished in US in 1987.

I found a small diaphragm valve - 25.5mm (1") diameter - lodged near the chassis on the RHS of the engine compartment, under the air filter and turbo charger (see pics). Anyone any idea where it came from ?

Note that the under-bonnet air conditioning gear has previously been removed, so it may have dropped out when that was done, or when other work was done, or it may not even be a part of the Jeep !
