Default Can you coat your exhaust?

with anything? to make it a little more attractive and sustain its life a little?

I heard that stove paint works good because its high heat? any tried that?

You can use anything that says 500 degrees+..such as engine enamal..found at advanced, pep boys, etc.

i have been wondering this as well if you got an aluminized system could you coat it with anything to stop it from rusting out

Yea, to stop it from rusting, its not super bad but i dont want to but a new one (i have 2) and i wanted to coat one and see how it went but dont want a fire underneath my jeep haha

I just sprayed my muffler with some black engine paint. I didnt want this big red muffler sticking out underneath. They also make an exhaust paint you can buy from like advance Auto Parts or Pepboys. Its usually located by the performance products.

i have painted tailpipes in the past with high temp black paint for like charcoal grills and stuff,it was cheap and worked great...

the last stuff i used was ace hardware brand grill paint,it was like 3 somethin for the can and has looked and held up awesome...

then engine enamel for 500 wont do it,, I painted the header cover with it,, and it started to fade bad, and ship..so try the 1200 one... in any case...

They have a few colors you can choose from. They have gloss black and flat black and I have to agree with belto, 1200 degrees is the better paint for exhaust. Much high temp and the same price I believe.
