Can anyone tell me what this plug is?

Anyone know? Some kind of plug right beside the power distribution box. Just noticed this the other day.

It's for a Leak Detection Pump (LDP).

I think there were lots of XJ's prewired for different options/State mandated systems, the LDP being one.

Interesting....is this some foreign accessory that I would plug into there? What sort of leaks?

I think it's for places with strict emissions like California. Probably came stock on cars sold there.

What is it with you jeep "pros"? That is the wiring harness for the contueum transfunctioner!........DUH!!!!!!

I was thinking that perhaps it was a plutonium bypass for the flux capacitor...LOL. My jeep is a PA jeep though. Only special PA accessory on mine would be rust

I was just wondering the same thing last week. I bought a 98 5 speed and my plug looks like yours in this picture. I also have a 2000 automatic with the LDP and this plug is plugged into it.
