Can anyone tell me if a 97+ console is the same regardless of transmission?

Default Can anyone tell me if a 97+ console is the same regardless of transmission?

I've got a manual XJ and need a new console. Can I grab an automatic one and have that fit or are they different?

Do you mean the instrument cluster or the center plastic part where the shifter is?
For the cluster should be a direct swap IIRC.
For the center plastic stuff you may have to cut some but it should be functional if not pretty (though I'd just wait to find a proper one since it's not functionally detrimental.)
