Default Cam Synchronizer issues

Hey guys hope everyone is doing well. First time user on this forum and I’m hoping someone can give me a helping hand.

I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport XJ with a 4.0. I recently got the car running with a rebuilt motor. However the truck keeps dying on me. So far I’ve narrowed it down to the cam synchronizer because the gear is chewed up. I’ve tried 3 different brands and so far no luck.

I set the timing on TDC compression stroke, sensor facing bell-housing, and she runs strong for 30 mins but after that the truck does not want to run. I’ll attack a pic of the sensor.

Any info on what to check or look at is extremely welcome and I hope I can get the issue resolved.

This is the gear after it dies
