Default Cable adjustment?

So, today i did an oil change on my jeep. was looking around checking bolts for tightness and make sure everything was not lose. I came across this cable that had about a inch of slack in it. I know it's not the TV kickdown cable, (I already adjusted that one)
Picture to show what cable im talking about, marked with a green arrow.

That would be for your cruise control, and the slack is supposed to be there.
