A/C R12 Recharge "equivalent"?
93 XJ Sport 290k. Runs great.
Found out the A/C suction hose had rubbed through on the engine compartment fuse box (and that's why why my A/C performace degraded to nothing over the last couple of years).
I can get the hose at RockAuto for $36, but has anyone ever heard of or used this stuff?:
Says its an R12 equivalent. If it will work, will 2 cans fill an empty system?

I have never heard of that stuff so I can't comment on that. But just remember when you change out the hose you are going to have to pull a vacuum on the system before you add any freon. So, if you don't have a good AC vacuum pump you will have to take it in and have the system evacuated and see what they will also charge to refill the system.

Unfortunately not a lot of people know that once the system is opened up to the atmosphere that you have to put a vacuum on the system to get all of the air and moisture system. The only reason I know is when I got my first car many many years ago. I replaced my entire ac system and didn't pull a vacuum on it and about 2 weeks later I had to replace the compressor. The more people that knows this the better. Good luck on you repairs and let us know how it comes out.

It's a hydrocarbon based refrigerant, same as DuraKool and the like. Propane and Butane.
It works pretty well provided: 1) it's legal in your state and 2) you don't mind flammable refrigerants.
