Default A/C dryer help

I'm replacing my a/c system with some help from refrigeration tech but have stumbled onto something neither on of us can identify and was hoping someone can help out. There is what looks like an adapter on the leaving Side of the accumulator that looks like an adapter but when we removed this to put it on the new accumulator the internals fell out and not sure what it is or how this part goes in.

Need photos.

Edit: And identify your Jeep. Year and engine, at minimum.

It's a 92 Cherokee sport with the 6 cyl. 4.0 and the line that goes from the accumulator to the metering device there is what looks like a connector but there are internal workings that I am not sure about, such as which way they are to go back in and is there supposed to be an o ring)

Attachment 274326

Are you talking about the device on the left in your pic, with an electrical connector attached to it? If so, that's the low pressure switch.

No, I'm talking about the part that is the next in a clockwise direction which is at the top of the picture. It looks like a adapter but has some sort of check inside of it. It is hard to see in the pic due to the fact it looks like it is part of the line that attaches to the dryer

I don't know for sure. I guess that's what they're saying.
