im new here and to my jeep
I need some info from some cherokee experienced do it urselfers
ok 98 4.0 a/c compressor wont run on its own
tried to get some cold air
1st did a vacuum test for leaks nothing
2nd tried to add some juice
no comp, tried jumpin the low pressure switch no luck
manually actuated the relay and the pump kicked in
so i tried a new relay same thing
got about a pound of juice in it runnin the pump w the relay pushed
but the compressor was getting hot so i know its bad
my question is what tells the relay to start the compressor
the switch in the dash is new changed that when i 1st got it in feb.
turned out to be the blower motor resistor there
im on a budget so i dont jus want to replace things and hope
