Default A/C compressor noises?

The other day out wheeling I got into some water deeper than I thought...and now the compressor is making a whining noise that doesn't seem detrimental just annoying, although if I turn the a/c compressor on the noise quits. Anyone have this issue before or have any ideas on how to cure this?

sounds like you got the AC clutch/bearings wet.. you could blow them out a bit with compressed air. just to dry it out.. i wouldn't force high pressure air in there at close range tho.

Well I let it idle for a while hoping the heat would help, and while it was going and stopped I sprayed some compressed air in there hoping it would help. No go. I think I'm gonna deal with it for now, and just replace the bearing or just install a compressor bypass..unsure yet..
