are these known to go bad and not relay the rest of the system to tell it to turn on? ive checked my high and low pressure switches under the hood the a/c is fully charged and serviced and the compressor works but the clutch doesnt engage the mechanic at my work seems to think it could be the climate control panel inside the vehicle i briefly took it apart but didnt really dig into just want to hear peoples thoughts on this? any help would be greatly appreciated...also all relays and fuses have been checked i powered the clutch to make sure it worked and it does....

 

The ones in the ZJ w/the ATC system cause problems with no AC and or no heat when they go bad, and they can't be repaired. They must be replaced as a unit. They're not very cheap either.
Don't know if the XJ ones have the same issues or not.
