56006846. This relay is in a relay box right below wiper switch on my 96 Cherokee. Started today after I installed an aftermarket stereo. ( coincidence I hope ) I pulled it out of course buzzing stops and nothing appears to not be working. Any idea what this does, the only wire I cut near there was the black wire hooked the radio chassis (black) hooked my ground from stereo to that. Does anyone have any ideas?

 

some times theres more than one ground on a single wire a pic would n help

 

I just completely removed that buzzer and threw it away. I don't see its purpose anyway

Will get pic tomorrow, daughter is driving it. May double check the black wire that was hooked up to chassis for good ground and make sure it is energized. Forgot to say in first post that this relay doesn't stop buzzing. Unplugging was my only option but can't find anything not working.

Could be the buzzer for the head lights if you leave them on. I have one on my 94 XJ anyway..

 

Same thing happened when I put it my new headunit. Ripped it out and its been out for over 10k, everything still works.

 

I did find out that if i put back the factory radio the buzzing relay will stop. just some fyi
