bushwacker fender flares :
apparently some kids at my school have a bone to pick with me...the other day someone broke 2 of my bushwacker flares off my jeep while it was parked at the parking lot of my school...today i noticed another one is cracked off...does anyone know if my insurence would cover it even though i have no way to prove that someone broke them off?:dunno: does insurance even cover vandalism? the body of the jeep is fine(as i kno of) but i am pretty sure the fenders are destroyed. :( any input is greatly appreciated

if you have full coverage
|
Does your school have security cameras? Insurance will cover it if you have comprehensive. Kids talk, they have to brag about these kinds of things most of the time. Stick your ear out there and hopefully someone will talk loud enough.
Bum deal bud. |
i say when you do find out, beat the **** out of them. where do you live?
|
my school does have security cameras but of course, where i park i am out of range...the same thing happened when some kids( probably the same ones) ripped my mirror off my oldsmobile, but last time i caught them in the act:guns:...the school wont do anything cause its not on camera so i hope the insurance will cover it...the problem is i dont think i have full coverage on it...
|
mud hole stomping of the *** sounds good huh
|
Bait them in with something. most likely they park by you. Can the camera see to your XJ but not the person or is it around a corner? If it can see you maybe you can catch the person by following them back to the school using the cam.
the cost of new ones might offset the deductible on your insurance regardless. Just a thought. |

why would someone want to do that to your xj anyways?what you do bra
|
Boardman where do you live??
|
at my high school there are 2 parking lots...one big one infront of the school where everyone usually parks, and one really small one toward the back of the school it holds maybe 20 cars and i pretty much know everyone there...i park in the really small one cause its really close to the school and its right next to the teachers lot so i thought there had to be cameras there...aparently there are only cameras on the doors of the school and my jeep is right out of view...as i know of i really dont think i did anything to deserve this...i usually keep to myself at school, making sure not to anger anyone but they still mess with my vehicles... this has been going on for awhile now. someone spray painted a crotch on my friends dakota(he parks right next to me), they keyed my f150 really bad, the ripped of my mirror on the olds, and now this on the jeep...

ok the easy way out is call up bushwacker, tell them you hit a trail off road, and the flares got busted up from 4 wheelin, they have a lifetime no questions asked guarantee, and will send you brand new ones for free.. its a little lie, but hey, you paid alot of money for them, the least they could do is send you a few more..
|
and try to park somewhere different.. like at a store across the street or something, and then walk over to school.. easy, and that way you dont have to pay the dues to park in the lot at school : P
|
do you live close to central PA?
|
Dude, I would park somewhere else. I rode my Santa Cruz mountain bike to high school. Try a bike.....good gas mileage. Or you could get a hooptie to cruise to school in, lol. Like I said I would keep my ears open.
|
kamokid has good idea of you can get new ones like that.then bring your louisville slugger and crack some kids in the back off the head sound good cheers

Some people do ridiculous things. It sucks, but it's true. Sorry to hear it happening. I don't understand why some people can't just leave others things alone.

True character right there. And why would the company give you new ones when you didn't deserve them? Think about it for a bit, If I was loosing product due to claims that were supposed to be true but turned out to be fraudulent and I didn't know it then I would have to charge more to cover my expenses.

you do make some sense, but they had to have known people would do this. i mean there has to be atleast 1000 other people that have done this. the price of bushwackers is probably actually half of what we pay, because they figured someone is going to break them and ask for a whole new set. se what i mean, but you do make a lot of sense.
I see what you mean, but let me note one thing to your point of view. They charge what they charge so that they can honor there warranty for you when you legitimately brake them on the trail. Simple as that. Not for the fact that people are going to scam them out of a set. I hate to be rash but I am frustrated that people would actually do this stuff regardless. |
true but, it wasnt his fault they were broken

Good idea! That way I pay more money in the future for them when I want a set. Not smart.

i think 400 bucks is enough to get you about 3 or 4 dozen sets of plastic fender flares anyway.. do what you want, but umm yeah the only reason i have them on my jeep is because of the warantee... try calling and asking instead of assumin.. why do you think they are 400 bucks for plastic?

that makes no sense, if you already have a pair, then why would you buy another set, and 2 THATS WHY THEY GUARANTEE THEM SO WHEN THEY DO BREAK, THE REPLACE THEM!!!!!!
They don't guarantee dishonesty. |
