Default Bumps shaking steering wheel

I put 31's under my 4.5 in lift and whenever I hit a largeish (I know... not really a word) bump the entire steering column shakes quite a bit. I have heard of people putting steering box reinforcements in. Is this the reason for this? Would that fix my problem?

Not sure how much those reinforcments cost but have you ruled out your steering stabilizer? When i put my 4.5" on with 32's, I put a new hd moog ss on it and have not had a problem. Your might be a little diffrent though

I have C-rok reinforcement kit, cost about 140 includes hardware.

I dont think that would fix your problem unless your unibody is crack on driver side wheel well

if you have stock steering stabalizer, then i would think thats your problem

Its a brand new RC stabilizer. That shouldn't be it. Its not the wheel turning, its the whole steering column jumping in the dash.

Why don't you give more details about the lift and it's components you installed. Did you put an adjustable trac bar on?
Are you sure it's not bump-steer?

Sounds like the steering column mounting is loose and may not be directly related to your lift/tires. Have you tried to move the column around and seeing where the movement is coming from?

RC 4.5" kit with full leafs, adjustable trac bar and steering stabilizer. Pretty sure it is not bump steer. The Jeep does not turn when hitting pumps, everything (steering column) just bounces around
