Hi, I'm trying to fit an amateur radio to my 99 XJ. I need to pass two wires from the cabin back to the battery, but it seems like the engine bulkhead is like a wall!! There's no spare entry points, nothing I can see that I can run my cables along to get through.
I've looked underneath to see if I can run along the transfer case and up through the gear selector, but that's all sealed too.

I need to pull quite a bit of ampage, so can't run off the wiring that's under the dash.

I'd considered using the 20a feed that's down there, but I'd rather have direct wiring. Anyone come across this problem before?

 

I had a prior Cherokee that I drilled a hole through the firewall near the center and used a grommet and a little rtv to seal around the wires that I passed through. Sorry no pics since that Cherokee is long gone.

 

Yeah I think I'll have to bite the bullet and start drilling
Do have visions of going right through a hose or some wiring though. lol
