I got seats from a 98 xj and put in my 94 xj, the rear is a direct swap the front I had to flattened the front brackets then marked the holes and drilled my floor then bolted them in plus I used the 98 console with cup holders
it worked great only thing is the bottom seat is flat instead of leaned back a little but a person could just use spacers to lift the front up some. I'm long legged so it works perfect for me plus I moved them back a inch from the 94 factory bolts.

And don't put words in my mouth either. I didn't say it was impossible. I listed a write up in my last post. Don't get all high and mighty with me.

Show me the pics or the write up. We removed the '90 passenger seat and laid it down next to the ZJ leather seat. Stared at the seats and frames, tossing ideas around for 20 minutes. I did see a write up where someone welded bars across the XJ frame, but that was totally unsafe. I'll wait for someone with a '90 era XJ to say how they did it.
Meanwhile on Craigslist, leather seats for sale.
Here's the 'fab' needed to get those seats into a '90. I don't have a drill press, oh well.

No I did not do a axle swap, the following parts were removed from a 2000 ford Explorer from the junkyard
2-caliper brackets with backing plates
2-calipers with pads
2-rotors
All nuts, bolts, hardware etc..
I also replaced my steel rusty brake lines from the master Cylinder all the way back with new lines
2 new axle seals, slicone, and 3 bottles of gear oil
I spent no more than $200! Doing this. But I guarantee all of you guy's that this junkyard swap is going to be one of the best upgrades you will ever do to your jeep hands down! My stopping power has improved on and off road, NO MORE SPONGEY BRAKE PEDAL FEAL!

My OP: "...will not fit in any shape or form into a 1990 XJ without some real modifications."
I know you got your panties up in a bunch but you can drop them down now.
My intent was to pass on that it's not simply a remove and replace as some people have stated. With later models I'm sure it's easier.
But once again, the 'girls club' got all excited. We all don't have garages, welding kits etc. I did find a link if you'll read the last post prior to you getting all annoyed. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/z...w-pics-289719/ .
