Default Broken Rear Defroster

Passenger side rear defroster works fine and heats/defrosts the top half of the back window.

Diver side rear defroster metal tab was snapped off when I bought my Jeep. Tried soldering the tab back to the piece still attached to the window, was successful attaching the pieces back toegether but the lower half of the window does not heat up.

How can I fix this? With my lift the top half defrosting doesn't really help, I need the lower half to defrost.

I hadn't paid that much attention either, just assuming it was a single grid. Since the upper half worked with one tab broken off, it makes sense...if the broken tab were power or ground on a single grid, it would not work at all.

Yeah they are two different grids.

Went to go test for power and ground as it was late last night when I finished the soldering and well my solder broke off haha so yeah...

The black piece clips into the tab and base portion attached to the window. Pulled the broken piece of the tab I tried to solder back to the base section out of the black clip. I am wondering if the piece attached to the window is replaceable, dealership has been no help with answering questions.

You might have better luck shining the surfaces up with emery cloth and using a silver-based conductive epoxy instead of trying to solder it.
