Default Broken door handle button

Well, my girlfriend and I were coming home from the movies last night an this happened. I unlocked the door for her and walked around to the other side to let myself in. I sat down and noticed that she wasn't in the jeep yet. I looked at her trying to get in but she couldn't. I opened the door from the inside and asked her what the problem was. She said that the handle is broken. I looked at it and sure enough, the damn thing split down the center. The pin under the plastic button was stuck so I used my handy dandy bottle opener I have on my key chain to pop the pin back into place. Now the pin is stuck in there under the plastic. I don't know what to do so i grad the inside handle and it sticks open TOO.

So my question is - How hard is it to change the outside door handle on a 90 XJ??? Does anyone know were to get a drawing of pictures of the innerds of anything like that?

Thanks
Mex

Theres a pin inside the button that gets bent. Pull it out and straighten it out and put it back in . Somewhat easy fix.

Take the door panel off, pop the two bars loose and remove the handle. Lots of times you will notice that they are real rusty in the area on the back of the botton. Get rid of the rust, lube it up until the button moves freely and put it back together.

and if you break the bolts, you can always replace them or get a new handle
