broken cotter pins??

Default broken cotter pins??

whats a good tool or something i can rig up to push the cotter pins out of the hub nut and c clips??

I always use a nail for the cotter pin
don't know what C clip you are talking about

A nail works good, but if you have the round side still in good shape then grab it with needle nose pliers and tap them with a hammer. It will pull it right out if its being stubborn. To my knowledge there is no c-clip on the 2 or 4 wheel drive applications.

the big C on the axle that holds the wheel but thanks ill try the nail

That's what i do. I have an old pair of needle nose pliers that i use for this. I grab it with the pliers and hit the pliars on the side to push it out.

hahaha....Cool, your the only other person I know that does this, and all of my friends are fellow wrenchers.

haha okay when you look at the axle on your xj...its the part of your axle that makes a big C that your axle shaft runs through....your wheel assembly attaches too is..on the passenger side your steering drag link is attached too it

Ahh, I think I figured it out. You mean the large steel part thats at the outer ends of the axle?

thats the ball joint mount its part of the steering knuckle
not the hub
