Go to www.quadratec.com and pick yourself up some IPF H4 conversion housings and either H4 or xenon bulbs.

Also, have you checked your battery voltage, and your wires?

Have you used these headlights? If so did you buy from that company? Do you have pics? Just wondered for myself.

Thumbs up

I installed a conversion kit with H4 bulbs on my 93 and noticed quite an improvement over the sealed beam lamps. The kits are reasonable in price; I paid about $30 for the kit (on sale at a local parts store) plus $20 for the bulbs. Here's a link that may help:

This one is for Comanche, but may fit the cherokee:

I second the opinion on the Sylvania SilverStars: they are very bright, very white, and don't cause too much glare for others in the road. Well worth the money!

If your state has inspections, make sure any aftermarket light kit is DOT-legal... or easy enough to swap-out for the inspection and swap back-in for the rest of the year.

X2 on the cap... a 5-Farad can be had for about $100 and works wonders.

If you want to prolong the life of your headlight switch and make your lights brighter, add a low-beam and high-beam relay to the circuits. This way your headlight switch doesn't take the full load.

This is a diagram for a GM, but the concept is exactly the same. You use the 12v from the switch to energize the relay... the current comes from a much-larger much-shorter wire from the PDC.

I got a set of the silverstars from advanced auto. They had to order them, but they're pretty reasonable and work well.

If you look around you can find the HD Headlight Harness for around $20 and get some IPF's or any GOOD headlight (one that will refract properly) and some H4's....Then you will have light!

I did this same thing with the harness and IPF housings and it is like night and day even over the silverstars. I will be staying with this setup and will recommend to anyone with a XJ.

lol those are terrible. upgrade the wiring, get a nice set of GLASS e-code housings, and a pair of osram, hella, or narva bulbs.
