Default break rotor won't fit over new hub

I am replacing the front drivers side hub on my 87 Cherokee Pioneer and the new hub fits fine except that when I attempted to put the brake rotor back on it doesn't fit over the new hub. Comparing to the old hub the new one from Napa is larger around the 3 bolt holes. Napa checked and says it is the right part and tried ordering the more expensive option and it was the same. Anyone had this problem?

Did you ask NAPA if they had a Brake Rotor --- on the chance that a new rotor will fit the new hub.

If they bring out a new rotor and it doesn't fit the new hub, then they will know they have a problem.

I know it an added expense, but if it solves the problem .... might be worth it.

I think 87-90 is different than 91 on. I think sometimes parts houses don't get that, by default they provide the later. I've gotten the wrong parts more than once. Just gussen, but suspect you got the wrong hub. (since your original rotor doesn't fit it.

I ran into this once with my 90'. I think it was 84 thru 89 are the same, 90 and up to 95' ? Maybe previous owner put 90' and up on at some point.

Thanks for the ideas. I have had it since '89 so I don't think they got changed out for '90 and up. I will try another parts house and see if I can get there attention about what year and then ask to try their rotor on it. I will let you know what I find out.

Exactly what I was thinking. Suppose it would be nice if they had one in stock. Then again you need one anyway so maybe order it

how badly rusted is the inside of the rotor? is it possible that its just a build up of rust. I have had to hammer the hell out of rotors on occasion because of this problem. you could also measure the hub and compare it with old
