Default brakes are way too tight, cant get em on rotor

Installed new brake pads and they are way too close together, not even close to fitting on rotor. What do I need to do?

Might be a stupid question but did you get them at an auto parts store in person or over the web? The idiots may have given you the wrong brakes.

wish i could help more but that's the first and only thing that came to mind

A c clamp with the old pad should push it back in, of not your caliper is frozen...if that's the case you need new ones.

They also sell a tool specifically for this, should be available at most parts stores.

It's called a caliper compressor, and it's pretty cheap... you're not going to be able to push them back in by hand.
