Default Brakes Hardline

Is the stock hardline in a 1996 XJ 3/16"? (Manual, 9" drum, just replacing the passenger side to cylinder)

Noticing a lot of variation on Amazon in price for stainless are any particular vendors better than the others?

I plan on using stainless fittings too. Still shopping.

3/16" is correct. Inline tube has a rear only kit as well as a couple of complete kits.

Nice! Now checking what grade stainless it is. If it says I missed it.
Might end up going with that if I don't find the raw stuff easily.

Inline Tube is top of the line when it comes to replacement lines. I purchased one of their SS brake line kits for my 68 Camaro back in 2011 when I was in the middle of that project. I have also installed one of their SS brake line kits on my 07 Silverado Duramax. Great company to work with. I'm thinking about getting the non-ABS kit for my XJ in order to eliminate the ABS on it.

Anybody happen to know what the size is for the rear brake cylinder fasteners? 1996 XJ Sport 4WD non-ABS. (SCREW, Cylinder Mounting 9" Brakes, part 6028 921, I think.)

I keep looking in the parts catalog for this stuff and I keep failing to dig out this sort of info. Used the above key words at FactoryChryslerParts.com and got hex head M6X1.0X25.00, but not the same part number.

Would like to have the correct fasteners in stainless on hand when I start taking this thing apart.

I am curious what the part number that did give you those specs was?
Sometime there are old part numbers that are superseded. See below.

https://www.moparpartsoverstock.com/.../06028921.html

Now even though in the what it fits it doesn't say anything about '96 and down XJ the part number you posted, 6028921, is the same in my '94 to '96 and all my '97 and up parts catalogs.
Plus I found this:

Got this one
https://www.factorychryslerparts.com...6104182AA.html

followed by an bunch of unrelated crap.

When I tried to put my vehicle in, it only goes back to 1997.

I would be careful of any not schmetric bolts. As I have already discovered, normal does not always fit those threads.

I don't think that is it. Doesn't say anything about wheel cylinders.

Doubt it is either, but that site seems to be leading the pack in providing stuff not related to what I am searching for.

One thing I did want to do was replace my bolts when I did my rear brake job.
But I did not.

I can match just about anything at my local Ace Hardware and get it in stainless usually too. That is what I plan to do if I cannot find out what I need in advance.

Guess I can take the wife's car and do that while the POR15 caliper paint is drying on the backing plates and drums.

I will be replacing the cylinders, they come in the rear drum kit I am ordering from Rock Auto.

Actually, from this link:
http://www.billrolikenterprises.com/...od=6028921%2DP

I could get four of those 1/4-20 course in stainless at Ace Hardware for about $1 and see if they work, unless I get more definitive information. If they don't work, clean up the old ones and use them.

When I get to having some time on my hands... I might consider that too... my ABS system works well... but actually a little TOO well for my taste in ABS...so I'd rather just not have it.

My 2c

Stainless line is much harder to work with than Ni-Co. Ni-Co line is awesome and I'd highly recommend going that direction.

Also ABS system can be disabled offroad just by pulling the fuse underhood. I would keep the system (operational) of the jeep sees road time - the benefits of ABS in an emergency stop situation are well documented
