Default Brake Pressure

Well I recently got new pads for my front brakes and new shoes/springs/drums/adjusters for the rear brakes. I also replaced one of the rear wheel cylinders and the brake line that it was attached to (broke that off while replacing it). I bled the brakes until there was no more air coming out but noticed that it didn't take much brake fluid which i thought was strange (didn't even go through one small bottle of fluid. The next morning when I hopped in my jeep to go to work and noticed that I had to push the pedal almost all the way down to feel any braking. Checked the fluid level and it's still completely full. After a couple of weeks of driving the fluid level still hasn't gone down at all and I still have to push my brakes all the way to the floor to engage them. I'm at a bit of a loss as to what it could be so any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Bleed them again and check the rear brake adjustment.

did you put the correct wheel cylinder on the rear? they are right/left specific.
bleeder nut has to be above the brake line.

Yup, bleeder nut is above the brake line. I'm gonna spend a couple hours next week going through and bleeding everything REALLY well again. I'll be sure to post how that works out. And I'll be sure to check the adjustments while i'm back there.

I just did all that to my 99 and I'm having same issue. I need to bleed again. I also out on new master cylinder. If I pump peddle works a lil better So I'm sure I just need to do another bleeding session.

Mopar, I think you might have bad seals in your mastercylinder, if pumping gives you a higher pedal. Assuming you bench bled it.

you could try replacing your brake fluid, if you haven't already. you may have a high moisture content.
