Brake pedal/switch issue
91 Sport 4.0 AX-15
I pulled my brake/clutch pedal assembly to replace the plastic bushings and to have the clutch pedal welded. The whole assembly was rusty so I hit it with some HAMMERITE RUST STOPPER. Put everything back together and reinstalled. Now the brake pedal is about 1/8" from depressing the brake light switch and thus the brake lights stay on. Disconnect the master cylinder arm and the pedal comes back far enough to shut off the brake lights. The assembly is fully seated to the firewall inside and the booster is against the firewall in the engine compartment. I am at a total loss here.
Ideas and suggestions greatly appreciated.
