my rear brake hard line was bad, needed to be replaced. I went to the old parts store, knowing it was 3/16 line.

there is a 10mm straight thread, and a 3/8 straight thread. I bought enough to do it with either since I didn't know.

there is a line comming from my ABS pump to the rear line, it has a little peice of flex in it which is nifty, doesn't leak, and accepts the 10mm fitting from the 3/16ths line.

I run the line back and put it into my RE brake line, no love. The RE is 3/8ths.

I read somewhere that this is how jeep did it. I doubt RE would make that big of a mistake, and the 2 lines at the axel work correctly. I don't have the original line to compare too, does anyone know what fitting the rear is supposed to use.

The stupid adaptors cost as much as the entire hardline, or the RE line but its looking like thats the route to go, or buy the flair tool, a 3/8 fitting, and put them together. any suggestions?

 

See if you can borrow a flare tool from an auto parts store. Up here, Canadian Tire lends out tools for a small deposit. Either that or buy one. They are handy to have. Then swap the 10mm fitting for a 3/8 one.
