Brake controller wiring
I'm installing a trailer brake controller and I'm wondering if there would be a wiring diagram available. I'm looking for an unused wire from the dash to the tailight area that I can use for the line to the trailer brakes.

You will probably have to run your own wore though. That's what I am going to do!

You should run a new wire for the electric brake circuit. The wiring that is in your Jeep is not up to the task because it's too small of a gage. You should use 12 gage wire from the controller to the trailer plug. The 16 and 18 gage wire that is in the Jeep will just go up in smoke. The contoller will have a wiring diagram and instructions on how to properly set the controller up for your needs.

There should be 4 wires coming out of it.
1- Battery power, probably black
2- Trailer brakes, goes to the pigtail at the rear. It's blue.
3- Brake switch, this goes to the cold side of the brake switch. Test the switch to see which one is live only when the brake pedal is pressed. It's a red wire.
4- Ground, a white wire normally.
And yes, run a 12ga wire for the battery power and trailer brakes.
