Default Brake Booster Fluid Level

I just checked the fluid level in the brake booster on my 99 xj and when you look inside The fluid is near the bottom. Should the fluid level be near the top or is that ok. The top cap says to fill it to the step but I don't know what step it is talking about.

Thanks

if its that low, you either have a leak, or your brakes are in need of replacement soon....look to see how much pad is left, if its not much change the brakes then check your fluid level again

the booseter should not have any fluid in it, nor should it be opened. so i guess your talking about the master cylinder reservoir. it should be to the top i think. but deffinitaly not almost at the bottom.
