Default Bouncing banging noise when in 4wd

I have a 99 jeep cherokee and went to the beach this weekend and when i engaged 4wd i was hearing like a bouncing banging noise any ideas what this could be,,,,,

did 4wd work? sounds like the t/case to me. but could also be a front diff or driveline. is it rotational? describe the events a bit more.

i had a problem with my 89 bangin when in 4wd, turned out my tranny mount was shot.
