Default Body Side Molding

I'm eventually going to install Bushwacker 5" fender flares on my 2000XJ. I would like to remove the 3" or so body side molding. What does it take to remove it and are their holes or other suprises underneath.

No it's just double sticky tape, no holes on the body. Some glue remover should work.
Where your rear bumpers have holes on the end caps, but I don't think you need to take them off.

A heat gun and razor blade will speed up the process, but then the 3M Adhesive Remover is the best way I have found clean up what is left.

I you have a Sport, the rear bumper cap will also have to be trimmed.

heat worked great for me. just make sure its something like a ceramic heater so it will get hot enough, i found a hair dryer didnt get hot enough for the job. just peel it off with your finger(wear gloves) and then clean it up with something, i used simple green

I just pulled it off without a heat gun or anything even though everyone suggested that. Most of it just came right off. The rest I just did my finger and it came off pretty easy. There were a few spots that were a little stubborn and I just kept at it until I had it off. Adhesive remover would help get the residue off. But doing it with my finger really wasn't that hard. Just rolled it off.
