i was told, and always believed that the body parts for all xj's were interchangeable. i'm looking at fenders, and it seems that up to 96 is different than 97 and up. anyone no if they are not interchangeable?
and anyone have any right side fenders or doors for sale??

If you want 97+ fenders you have to replace the front pieces as well like the header and so forth..the fender and front end on the 97+ is different then the 96 and older..

depending on where you lift Certifit makes some nice replacement body parts..My buddy replaced his fender using them and it fit almost perfect..had to do a lift finesse but that's to be expected with after market parts..otherwise it's off to the JY...or ebay..

Yes there are slight differences in the body panels on 87-96 and 97+ years of Jeep Cherokes they are similar and a few things will interchange but they are very few that are perfect bolt ins.
i bought a new a fender and hood off of craigslist for $40. i will need to have them painted to match but that seems cheaper than buying a new part. i still havent figured how to remove the fender though. but i think all xj's are on the job training.
