Does anyone know where to find the in dash ac switch for a 96 cherokee? I'm pretty sure that's what went wrong the whole system blew really cold air until one day the ac and cigarette lighter kept going out randomly by itself and then the ac doesn't turn on anymore. the cigarette lighter still works though i'm puzzled..

 

That's strange that the cig lighter is still working, maybe it's in a parallel series and the control board in the dash is out like you said. But since the ac has been blowing cold air, I can rule out a bad compressor motor. I would say look through your car Manuel and see what you can find about the electrical system

 

Mine went out last friday. I thought it was the blower that was dead. I tested the blower by removing it and connecting it directly to the battery. I also checked the resistor. Turn out to be the fuse. I think it was a 30amp fuse inthe fuse block #5. I have a 94 and my fuse box isnt labeled. I used a test light to find the bad fuse.
