Blower motor isn't working - need troubleshooting help!
Hello all - I've got a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport I6 with a blower motor that doesn't work. The first time it stopped working we took it to a mechanic and they replaced the resistor module and the blower relay. This seemed to solve the issue, however, then it started to have intermittent operation. Sometimes it would work and other times it wouldn't, but would start working after driving around. Now it's stopped working altogether, and since this is my mom's vehicle (and winter) I've been trying to troubleshoot but haven't had any luck so far.
I've ready numerous threads about problems with the blower motor and have tried the following:
- Replaced resistor module (again)
- Replaced blower relay (again)
- Removed and bench tested blower motor (worked)
- New blower motor (replaced old one anyway)
- Removed fan control switch, cleaned, re-assembled
- Checked wiring harness (behind glove compartment) for melting. Everything looked fine.
- Confirmed ~11-12v was getting to the blower motor connector.
I'm puzzled and can't think of anything else to try. It seems like it's getting power, but maybe not enough amperage to run the fan?
Any ideas/thoughts/comments would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a pic of the back of the climate control panel showing connector C1pinout and a schematic of your blower circuit if it helps.
Note that the blower ground is at G108. You may want to check for continuity from connector C1 harness, pin cavity 1 to the dash structure.

Thanks CCKen for the info! The diagram is very helpful.
Quick update - It's working, but I'm completely stumped as to why.
With the ignition turn to 'ON' and the fan set speed set to high I took a wire and connected it to the positive terminal on the battery, then connected it to the positive cable (green wire) directly at the blower motor connector. It spooled up which I expected since it's a new motor and I'm feeding it directly from the battery. The weird part is it continued to spin after I disconnected the jumper and has been working perfectly (variable speed, on/off, etc) for the past few hours.
I essentially jumped the blower motor and it fixed it? Anyone have any idea why that worked?
