I need to replace my turn switch. it wont cancel on left turn and I can live with that but when I used the wind shield washer the other day the damn thing started to smoke. so what am I getting into ? is this going to be major surgery ? Im a vet and the VA only gives me so much blood pressure medicine.................Ron

I dont think its too much trouble, You have to remove the steering wheel column plastic covers(usually held together with 3 screw when looking for the bottom) and have a look around and see what it all is held on by. I did a turn signal stalk on a 05 grand cherokee and it was pretty easy. I would imagine the older jeeps a little more easy to work on.

you could hit up a junkyard and "practice" on one of the vechiles there, and take the turn signal switch to swap out on your jeep and see if it cures the aliment.
