ok so i blew out my shock absorbers last week and now i need new ones.
i was running on the old stock setup and i have a 4in body (budget) lift.
now i do know that i need to but new shocks that are 4in bigger then the stock to accomidate for my lift. i was looking through a catalog and saw them running between $30each for rough country and like $80each for a company that i never heard of.
basically should i stick with rough country or faptech or do i go out and buy something a little pricers. then their is gas? air? hydraulic?
and some other stuff out their.
anyone have a preference
keep in mind i like the low cost rough country and thing to compete with that?

low cost shocks are all the same, so if you dont plan on spending more than 30 bucks a shock, buy the cheapest ****tiest piece of junk you can find.
quality shocks will run you 80 each for the bottom of the barrel of quality components.

what it is its just spacers and drop shackles or blocks insted of actual springs is what he is talking about. but yeah on the question about shocks i would go with rustys off road or rough country, there both ok and cheap. but its up to your preffrence pretty much

yes the xj is a unibody and a body lift in my case is a metal block that is placed in the original shock mounting spot. the block is 4in long their for moving the shock locating mounts 4in down and lifting the body up for 4in
